Photo by Tenzin Tshering Geshe Tashi Tsering has assumed great responsibility for the monks and nuns of his home monastery in the Kardze area of Tibet as well as for hundreds of monks from this region who are studying in India. His many Tibetan students look to him for guidance and practical support. He shoulders this responsibility with characteristic compassion and kindness.

The Good Fortune Trust exists to care for these monks and nuns, to meet both their material and spiritual needs.

What does the Good Fortune Trust do?

In brief, here are the programmes the Good Fortune Trust currently manages, made possible by the kindness of many supporters.

India
ongoing sponsorship of $10/month ($120/year)
provides a Sera Je monk in the House 12-5 Sponsorship Programme with enough money for texts, robes, medicine and other personal essentials.

Tibet
ongoing sponsorship of $35/month ($420/year)
is equivalent to providing for all the essential needs of a Khangmar monk or Jhilu Ritrek nun for one year, including food (because of the urgent need, offerings are currently pooled so that all the monks and nuns benefit from what is currently offered).

one-off donation of $30
provides a main meal for a day for all the Khangmar monks

one-off or regular donations of any amount
enable essential building and infrastructure work (such as solar electricity generation, running water, new accommodation, building repairs), plus establishment of formal education and study programmes.

Geshe-la is also the abbot of many of the nuns of the Chenrezig Nuns' Community and monks of Lozang Dragpa Monastery in Queensland, Australia. These monastic communities are made up of Western monks and nuns who participate in the intensive study programme offered by Geshe-la at Chenrezig Institute.

Can you help?
The Good Fortune Trust invites you to join its efforts to support Tibetan nuns and monks from the Khangmar valley region of Eastern Tibet. Whatever assistance you can offer will make a big and immediate difference to the simple lives of these sincere Buddhist practitioners in Tibet and India.

We welcome ongoing sponsorship or one-off donations.

Please let us know if you would like your offerings to be used for a specific purpose. Otherwise, we will use it in the area of greatest need.

We would like to know your name and contact details so that you can be included in the prayers for benefactors and so we can keep in touch. If you wish your offering to remain anonymous, please let us know and we will protect your privacy.

Thank you very much.
