That's Yitruk again in the foreground, part of a team of monks painting and decorating the benches on which they sit and the tables for their texts. Check out the bunting hanging around the top of the walls in the background; that's been painstakingly painted on. The air was thick with the smell of varnish, which had been applied to the timber veneer framing the pillars and ceiling. It looked fantastic (but still smelt terrible a week later!)
